Good morning, team!

As we prepare for our banquet on Wednesday, we wanted to announce the results of the captain voting.

As always, when we prepare the "ballot" for the captains, we wonder: "How are they going to be able to choose from this list???" There are always so many great people that are in a position to serve and do that job well. EVERYONE on the ballot received votes, which just shows you (the juniors) how much you are valued and looked up to. We know you have some big shoes to fill as we sunset Abby, Zach, and Kate.

We want to say also that even if you aren't a captain, that you are still in a position of leadership regardless of title. Seniors ALL serve as ambassadors for our program no matter where we go. They help bring new athletes into the fold and create the culture that we strive to have in our program and within our community.

If you have any questions or concerns, please come see me directly. Do not spread negativity around the team and talk about why someone else didn't get elected to this position. This should be brought to me, so please do what is best for the team and vent those thoughts in a safe space with me. We know that the results could be upsetting to those that really wanted to be captain, but were not chosen. There will be plenty of space for your leadership next year!

As always, we believe the votes have picked an exceptional group (any combination would have been exceptional) and we believe these athletes will continue the tradition of strong leadership in our program. They will serve as the communicators of things from coaches and will assist in facilitating some of the program stuff we will do next season. They will need help! So we hope everyone will circle around this group and give them your support as they take on this task! They are excited about it and we can't wait for them to get started!
